Television
Ten hours of golf on TV, how does
that sound for round one? Don't worry about your favorite players teeing
off early or late; you'll catch them, for sure!
ESPN
will bring the action in two separate slots. The first one is set to be
from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET, the last, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
ET.
NBC will broadcast between those time slots, that's from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET.
Don't miss...
So you're all set with the TV and live stream schedule, now, whom should you follow?
Tiger Woods
is a no-brainer. He won his latest tournament, The Memorial, with
9-under overall, two clear from Andrés Romero and Rory Sabbatini. Woods
had a driving accuracy of 92.86 percent and hit 77.78 percent of greens
in regulation.
Dustin Johnson won the St. Jude
Classic last week. He was two shots off the lead and managed to shoot
4-under, 66. Oh, by the way, he hadn't played for six weeks due to a
back injury.
Luke Donald has yet to win a major
tournament, but he could grab his first one this week. Donald's latest
victory came last May, at the BMW PGA Championship, four shots better
than
Justin Rose and Paul Lawrie.
Phil Mickelson
may not be going through his best moment, but when we talk about
majors, he knows how to come forward. The U.S. Open is the only one he
hasn't won, so there's an extra incentive.
Rory McIlroy
is the defending champion and everybody expects him to succeed, but he
hasn't been very sharp with his game lately. He missed the cut of The
PLAYERS Championship and the Memorial Tournament. Nevertheless, last
week he finished tied for seventh.
Bubba Watson
won The Masters to become a first-time major champion. Watson has been
very consistent this season, despite missing the cut last week at The
Memorial. He has finished inside the top 10 four times and sits second
in greens in regulation percentage.
